From August 26 to 28, 2025, the PATA Travel Fair, held in Bangkok, hosted a lively gathering. The Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO), along with local industry representatives, showcased the charm of “Tourism +.” Notably, the “Experience Macau, Exclusive Experiences” campaign, a collaboration between the MGTO and six integrated resort companies, won the Grand Prize for Marketing. Other projects focusing on sustainable development, community tourism, and the IP economy also received Gold Awards.

Booth Highlights: AI Photo Zone and Authentic Cuisine

This year’s fair attracted thousands of attendees from over 50 countries and regions. Themed “Tourism +,” the Macau booth combined cross-disciplinary elements across tourism, culture, and cuisine. It featured an AI photo zone with Macau’s famous attractions as backdrop and a café offering authentic cuisine, allowing visitors to not only gain information but also experience Macau firsthand. The booth also provided a platform for Macau industry professionals to exchange ideas and explore business opportunities with tourism professionals from around the world.

Several Promotional Projects Received International Recognition

In addition to the “Experience Macao, Exclusive Experiences” award, the Macau Tourism Board’s “A New Standard of Excellence” project, a collaboration with a media company focusing on sustainability and social responsibility, also won a gold award. Melco Crown Entertainment’s “SANRIO CHARACTERS” themed event and Sands China’s “Tracing the Source of Grass – Illustrated Story of Grassstack Street” book project also received gold awards. These awards, selected by the PATA’s international jury, highlight the strength of Macau’s tourism industry in marketing, social responsibility, and innovation.

Raising Macau’s International Recognition

MGTO Director Maria Helena de Senna Fernandes and industry representatives personally attended the opening ceremony of the trade fair and attended the association’s board of directors and other internal meetings. Over the years, the MGTO has actively participated in PATA events, leveraging the platform to connect with the global tourism industry and successfully promoting Macau tourism on the international stage.

This trade fair not only showcased Macau’s diverse “Tourism +” charm, but also, through online and offline interactions, allowed the international market to better understand Macau’s unique tourism and innovative marketing methods, laying a solid foundation for future international visitor acquisitions.
